On March 3, 2026 I was a pedestrian run over by an 18-wheeler truck at a crosswalk with a crosslight near NRG stadium in Houston, TX.
I am a daughter, a wife, a mother of 3 boys, a doctor. It was a beautiful, cool and sunny day at 10am. This can happen to anyone.
Since this day, I have tried to make changes at the federal, state, and city level to make our streets safer for pedestrians, cyclists, and our communities, especially those using public transportation.
I have been met with resistance and a "kick the can" approach. I have started a petition to try to make changes for pedestrian safety.
Please consider signing this petition to lower the speeds along the Braes Bayou Trail as a start to the Pedestrian Safety Initiative HTX.
